F2 2026 Preview

It’s time for F2 2026 and this season the entrants span from rookies who have barely set foot in an F2 car before (or even an F3 car) to those who have already had a whole career and won championships. They all, however, have one thing in common: F1 hopes and dreams (which let’s be honest, statistically speaking, are probably going to crumble around them at some point). Happy racing! And don’t forget to choose your new favourite driver using the handy flowchart…

F2 Qatar 2025

F2 Qatar 2025

It’s been so long since the last F2 round that I barely recognise who anyone is anymore. Wait some of these drivers really weren’t here earlier in the year. At this point Qatar may as well be the start of a whole new season, a season where Leo Fornaroli gets to start nearly 200 points ahead of Cian Shields. Unlucky Cian.

F2 Great Britain 2025

F2 Great Britain 2025

F2 arrived in Great Britain, to a track that you know will deliver great racing yet somehow still always manages to produce something unexpected. Also finally a track that John Bennett has actually driven before and I’ve just discovered that someone writes full race reviews for him on his website; I haven’t been so happy since 2019 and Ralph Boschung’s dual-language race blog. In other news, Arvid Lindblad was getting his first FP1 outing in the Red Bull on Friday, which he was apparently excited about, although maybe not as excited as me when I discover an F2 driver actually updates their website regularly…

F2 Spain 2025

F2 Spain 2025

F2 moved on from the processional track of Monaco to the definitely never processional track of Barcelona (if you read this in an upbeat and positive tone please go back and reread in a more sarcastic tone)…

F2 Imola 2025

Illustration of F2 qualifying at Imola with Verschoor choosing to go the right way (aka on the track), while Goethe takes a more scenic and gravelly route, also known as "not the right way".

All the teams and drivers turned up to race in Imola as normal and everyone pretended that was indeed normal, despite Hitech’s team director William Oakes being arrested and charged with “transferring criminal property” after being caught hanging out with “a large amount of cash.” Just another day in the life of the F2 circus, I guess…?

F2 Bahrain 2025

F2 Bahrain 2025

For most drivers it was the second round of the F2 season, for a couple of others it was BIG F1 TIME! Otherwise known as that time of the year when the F1 teams have to put a rookie driver in for a practice session. The lucky chosen were Dino Beganovic driving for Ferrari and Luke Browning driving for Williams. I’m sure fellow Williams Academy driver Victor Martins didn’t jealously watch on from the side at all. Although not driving in F1, Sebastián Montoya was also celebrating this weekend as he turned 20 years old. He apparently got a new livery for his birthday and was so excited to use it he put it on straight away for free practice and didn’t take it off all weekend…
